‍ ‍ The Work Beneath
‍ ‍Thresholds of Self

My Story

I did not begin with a framework.

I began by noticing patterns in the people I worked with, in myself, and in the ways human beings move through periods of change, uncertainty, and adaptation.

Over time, I began to see that our experiences rarely live in one place alone.

What is happening emotionally may also be present in the body, relationships, nervous system, environment, beliefs, or sense of meaning.

This recognition became the foundation of Thresholds of Self.

Philosophy

This work is grounded in the understanding that human experience is interconnected.

What we feel, believe, embody, and experience relationally does not exist in isolation.

Change rarely emerges through insight alone.

It often unfolds through:

  • awareness

  • regulation

  • relationship

  • reflection

  • environment

  • and the capacity to stay present with what is not yet fully understood.

The Approach

Rather than focusing on one part of experience in isolation, this work brings attention to how patterns move across the wider system of a person’s life.

My role is not to direct or define your experience.

It is to support:

  • observation

  • reflection

  • nervous system awareness

  • and meaningful engagement with what may be shifting over time.

A Little About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over two decades of experience across mental health services, crisis intervention, juvenile justice, housing support, and higher education.

Thresholds of Self emerges from both professional experience and a sustained interest in how people navigate uncertainty, transition, relational change, and meaning-making across the lifespan.
